Sun-faded mesh, a loose pole or a gate that won't latch? Get the barrier working again.
Desert sun, wind, kids and dogs all wear on a pool fence. A barrier with a sagging section or a gate that doesn't latch gives a false sense of security, so it's worth fixing quickly.
The model code also asks that pool equipment be kept at least 36 inches from the outside of the barrier so it can't be used as a step.
If the fence is shorter than today's 60-inch height or the gate hardware is worn out, a replacement may make more sense than patching. An installer can quote both. Compare permanent vs. removable options.
Usually yes. Mesh fences are built in sections, so a single faded or damaged panel can often be replaced if the product is still available.
Code requirements generally apply to new work and permits. Whether a repair or replacement triggers the current rules is a question for the building department.
Heat, ground movement and worn hinges can shift alignment. Most latch problems can be fixed by adjusting hinge tension or realigning the latch.
Many installers will. Mention the brand and age of the fence on the quote form.
